The only museum in The United States that portrays the entire story of the American Civil War. History is preserved in equally balanced presentations that are humanistic in nature without bias to Union or Confederate causes.
This rare topic highlights the brutal conditions of prisoner of war camps, both Confederate and Union. This exhibit will display rare artifacts from the Museum's collection and panels will address and explain the conditions of the camps and daily prisoner life, at times as life threatening for the soldiers than battle itself.
This is the last changing exhibit of a series of commemorative exhibits for the 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War.
The exhibit contains some of our rarest artifacts from 1865 that are not regularly on display. The exhibit will cover the battles, strategies and civilian lives throughout the fifth year of the American Civil War.
