The National Civil War Museum Announces Fourth Annual Toys
for Tots Program
Museum
to Offer Free Admission with Toy Donation
Harrisburg, PA (November1, 2004) - Joining
together for the fourth consecutive year, The National Civil War Museum
and the United States Marine Corps (USMC) have teamed up to bring
Christmas to Harrisburg’s children in need. Through the joint efforts of
The National Civil War Museum and the USMC, support has been given to 80
social organizations and more than 20 thousand children received in excess
of 55 thousand toys.
The
2004 campaign will kick off on Thursday, November 4th at 9:30
a.m. in the Museum’s Grand Rotunda. This year’s kick-off event will
feature Kevin Rawlings as Civil War Santa. Also present will be
representatives from the USMC and will include remarks from Museum CEO,
George E. Hicks.
Please join us in our Grand Rotunda, around the Christmas tree to ensure
that needy children have a happy holiday. Guests who bring a new,
unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more will receive one free admission to The
National Civil War Museum as our gift to you for supporting the local Toys
for Tots program. All toys donated at The National Civil War Museum will
stay in the Harrisburg area.
The National Civil War Museum will be accepting toy donations from
November 4 through December 14, 2004. Celebrate the holidays with the
United States Marine Corps and The National Civil War Museum.
The
National Civil War Museum, which has an on-site, full-service café and
museum shop, is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
