THE
NATIONAL CIVIL WAR MUSEUM
ANNOUNCES 2ND ANNUAL M&T BANK
COMMUNITY FREE DAY
Harrisburg, PA (January 3, 2008) -
M&T Bank has graciously agreed to sponsor a community free day
at the Museum on Saturday, Februrary 16, 2008, which coincides with
President's Day weekend. Free admission to the Museum will be
available to all visitors, courtesy of M&T Bank.
Schedule of Events:
1:30pm-3:00pm Book signing with Dr. David Downing, author of
A South Divided: Portraits of Dissent in the Confederacy;
lecture at 1:00pm
11:am-1:00pm Artifact table and
discussion with Mrs. Constance
Clowers as Julia Grant
11:00am-4:00pm Long Hill String Band will be performing
various Civil
War era tunes at 12pm & again at 2:30pm.
They will
also be discussing their music and instruments.
1:00pm-3:30pm Civil War Period Games presented
by Thompson's
Independent Battery C.
1:30pm
Lecture with Mr. James Hayney as
Mr. Abraham Lincoln
2:00pm
Civil War Infantry Lecture with Ken Quattlander, a
member of Thompson's Independent Battery C.
The
National Civil War Museum is an educational 501(c)(3) institution
dedicated to preserving Civil War history, located in Reservoir
Park in Harrisburg, PA. The Museum's seasonal hours of operation are:
Wednesday
through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00
p.m. The Museum is open 7 days a week April 1 through Labor Day. Admission
to the Museum is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, and $6.00 for
