PRESS RELEASE

NEWS RELEASE

Issued November 1, 2002                                                   For Immediate Release

The National Civil War Museum and the United States Marine Corps have joined forces to help bring Christmas to Harrisburg’ children in need.

Bring a new, unwrapped toy of a $10 value or more and receive a ticket to The National Civil War Museum as our gift to you in support of this very worthwhile program.  The National Civil War Museum wants to give back to the community that has supported us so greatly.

ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2002 AT 10:00AM WE WILL KICK-OFF THIS CAMPAIGN.  The National Civil War Museum is one of the most visible locations and landmarks in Harrisburg, won’t you join us under our beautifully decorated Christmas tree to help bring joy to our local children in need.

The Toys for Tots program embodies the true spirit of Christmas.  The National Civil War Museum symbolizes everything that is America.  This partnership brings together two strong forces sharing the same goal.  Please join us as we help to bring the joy of Christmas to a child in need this holiday season.  The gift of a shiny new toy to a needy child means that someone cares and that Christmas hasn’t passed them by.  All the toys collected stay in our community.

Come and donate a toy for a local youth, from November 1 to December 20, 2002.  Celebrate Christmas with the United States Marines and The National Civil War Museum.

The National Civil War Museum is located in Reservoir Park in Harrisburg.  Regular hours: Monday – Saturday. 10:00am to 5:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm – 5:00pm.  For more information, telephone 717-260-1861 or visit our website: www.nationalcivilwarmuseum.org.
