“Civil War Photography: Details, Daredevil’s and Discoveries” with Garry Adelman
The Civil War was the first war to be extensively photographed and, for the first time in history, the public was exposed to real-life images of contemporary heroes, faraway fields of battle and the gruesome toll of war. The focus upon the methods, formats, photographers and then-and-now techniques will inform novices and experts alike. And hang onto your hats--Mr. Adelman will cover a lot of ground in a manner available nowhere else!
The 2018 Lessons in History program is free to the public. Regular museum admission applies for entrance to the museum galleries.
