Giving to The National Civil War Museum
The National Civil War Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit education institution that relies on the generous support of individuals, grants, foundations and corporations. The Museum does not currently receive any line item funding directly from the county, city, state or federal government.
Making a gift to The National Civil War Museum is a great way to support our educational, research and curatorial missions. There are a variety of ways to give:
* Preserve Our History Campaign - This unrestricted gift supports the Museum's exhibit development, archival upgrades, educational presentations and much more. The 2010 Campaign also includes the Adopt-A-Gallery initiative, the details of which are described below.
* Gifts of appreciated securities, stocks and bonds
* Planned giving -
* Bequests are an easy way to support the Museum's future by providing a gift
in your will.
* Matching gift programs are an easy way to increase your donation through your
company. Check with your personnel office to find out if they offer matching gifts.
* Sponsorships - Without the support of sponsors, the Museum would be unable to
provide these unique learning opportunities at the Museum.
* Exhibits: New changing exhibits provide an opportunity for the Museum to bring
artifacts out of collections previously unseen to visitors. This exhibits cover a variety
of topics, including women in the Civil War, illness & disease and the logistics of
moving and supplying troops. They are on display for approximately six months.
* Events: Examples of Museum events include: the Dinner Lecture Series (twice a year),
the Summer Speaking Program and the annual fundraising event, the Blue & Gray
Gala.
* Gifts of historical value - Thank you for considering entrusting the Museum with your
family heirloom or artifact from the Civil War that has been passed down through
generations. By donating to the Museum, you are making a decision to ensure the
preservation of your families and history and to share that history with future
generations. Contact our Curator of Collections, Brett Kelley for details on donating an
