Presentations & fun Activities throughout the day!

  • 10:45am - Train Story Time
  • 11am - Firing Demonstration (Federal General Corps Encampment)
  • 11:15am-12pm - Presentation: Harrisburg and its Railroads by Pennsylvania Past Player, Station Master George Zacharias
  • 12pm-12:30pm - Performance: Railroad Songs by Grammy Nominated Singer/Songwriter and Award Winning Entertainer, Ray Owen - for kids of all ages
  • 12:30pm-1pm - Presentation: Railroads and Timekeeping, by Frank Goad (will discuss the railroads' need for more accurate timekeeping and various ways in which this was done including more accurate watches and time services with inspections)
  • 1pm - Firing Demonstration (Federal General Corps Encampment)
  • 1:15pm - Performance: Railroad Songs by Grammy Nominated Singer/Songwriter and Award Winning Entertainer, Ray Own - for kids of all ages
  • 1:45pm - Train Story Time
  • 2pm - Presentation The Judge Watts Nameplate: A forgotten Civil War Artifact, by Bradley Smith and Larissa Arico of The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania (Will discuss this train's history and railroad's  role in logistics during the Civil War), artifact currently on display in The National Civil War Museum galleries)
  • 3pm - Firing Demonstration (Federal General Corps Encampment

  • Make a train out of a milk carton
