Living History Encampment - 1st Maryland CSA

07/10/2010 10:00am - 07/11/2010 4:00pm

Come experience camp life in the 1860's!

The 1st Maryland CSA is a "mainstream" reenacting unit (including women as civilians) that does their best to portray people from the state of Maryland who served in the Confederacy. They have done many battle reenactments, living histories, school education programs, and parades and were one of 2 CSA units who actually camped on the ground of the Museum before it opened to the public (during the "Grand Review" event in Harrisburg).

Loading and firing demonstrations at 11am, 1pm & 3pm on Saturday and 1pm & 3pm on Sunday

Famous apple demonstration: (1pm on Saturday & Sunday)- find out what happens when plain black powder fired from a musket and pistol comes into contact with an apple!
