LECTURE SERIES TO FEATURE WEST POINT GRADUATE, AUTHOR AND VIETNAM VETERAN
(Harrisburg, PA) - The National Civil War Museum announced today that Dr. Tom Carhart will be the featured speaker in its popular Dinner Lecture Series. Sponsored by Caretti, Inc. and PPL Corporation, the Museum will welcome West Point graduate, historian, author, and Vietnam veteran, Dr. Tom Carhart on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Dr. Carhart will be speaking about his book, Lost Triumph: Lee's Real Plan at Gettysburg and Why It Failed.
Tom Carhart graduated from West Point in 1966 and was decorated for valor, service, and wounds suffered in combat while serving as an infantry platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He was awarded two Purple Hearts for his service. Later, Tom earned a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School as well as a Ph.D. in American and military history from Princeton University. Lost Triumph has brought high praise from many renowned and widely-published military historians, including James McPherson, Sir John Keegan and many others.
