A few Federal Generals stop by for a visit at our '09 Community Free Day(Harrisburg, PA) - The National Civil War Museum and Amtrak will welcome visitors to the Museum with FREE admission on Saturday, June 19, 2010.  This will mark the Museum's fourth annual summer free day. Community Free Days at The National Civil War Museum have brought in more than 6,000 visitors since inception.

Generals from the North and South will make an attempt to co-exist as the Federal Generals Corps and Lee's Lieutenants will camp out and share details of their "battle plans".  Especially popular with children, living history group Thompson's Battery C will perform a "drill sergeant routine" to whip kids into shape and prepare them for Civil War combat.

Guests will have the opportunity to check out the newest permanent addition to the Museum galleries, "Meet Mr. Lincoln".  This interactive exhibit enables visitors to find out more information about the Great Emancipator through touch-screen technology.

Visitors can also learn about Confederate and Union spies in the Museum's latest changing exhibit: "Spies Among Us: Espionage in the Civil War", which runs through September 7, 2010.

For a complete listing of activities scheduled for the day, please visit the NCWM website's events calendar: http://www.nationalcivilwarmuseum.org/ or call 717.260.1861 for more details.
