In commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial, the Museum will place "Banners of the Fallen" (flags) in honor of those killed in action during a significant Civil War battle on each battle anniversary. These flags are placed in front of the Museum building, each flag representing one soldier killed in action during that battle.  The Battle of Fredericksburg was a battle fought on the banks of the Rappahannock River in the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia on December 13, 1862.  The Battle of Fredericksburg commemoration flags will be on display beginning December 8, 2012 and will remain in place until December 21, 2012.
